Question The difference between the 2

I'm hoping and praying that come summer I'll finally be able to get the car of my dreams. I really wanted the ABM, but since they discontinued that and Synergy is a V6 only color, I've decided that Victory Red will be my color. It's just a pretty color on any car. I'm either getting a 1SS or nothing, and my attention has been drawn to a couple things that aren't available on the 1SS that are on the 2LT and 2SS. First, I don't care at all about not having the gauges in the center cluster, that's not important to me at all. What would be nice is the steering wheel radio controls that aren't on the 1SS? Is that correct? I'll be ordering the BA system as well, idk if that makes a difference. If that is correct, is there anything else I can't have that I might want by getting the 1SS? To be honest it's not a big deal because 31k is a lot more enticing than 37k in any circumstance, I'm just curious.

Leather/heated seats, bluetooth/C&C package with the PDIM plug for ipod (you still get a USB with a 1SS though), and I believe that's it. The guages you don't care about, and I think maybe a remote start for the auto's are most of the differences between the two.

MSRP for the 2SS with RS package is 35,340, not 37k.

I'm not sure you do get a USB port in the 1SS. I think that port comes only as part of the PDIM module, which I do not believe is an option on the 1SS. I could be wrong, so please double-check this. I believe the C&C package with PDIM is available on the 1LT.

Cheers,

I have a 1SS and the above posters are right except about the USB port. You do not get this but in place of it you do get an auxiliary plug in the console. You go to the radio shack and buy a 3.5mm male to male cable for about $5.00 and you can plug your IPOD or in my case, the MP3 player from my cell phone into it. I didn't want the PLEATHER seats but I am going to get the gauges when they are available. i have the A6, Boston Accoustics and the polished wheels.

I believe you can get the steering wheel controls with the 1SS, as my brother-in-law has them as well as bluetooth and the like. I am not sure of the PDIM, but on GM's website, I think you can buy it outright if you so desire. I think the options are part of the communications and connectivity package in the 1LT and 1SS and standard on both of the "2" models.

Bluetooth is exclusive to the C&C package so there's no way he could have the factory bluetooth with a 1SS.

Yes but you won't have radio knob and steering button control of the Ipod. As well as charging. That USB interface is wonderful.

I have a 1LT with the C&C Package and I have the leather steering wheel with the controls, a remote starter, and the USB and iPod plug. Unless you want the leather, or the gauges I don't see a reason to get the 2SS.

If I can have the steering wheel controls that's awesome. I guess I'll just have to talk to the dealer. The bluetooth is no big deal I don't talk on the phone while driving now, so it's not of importance. I'll just be getting the RS package and the BA system right now. I definitely don't need leather or anything fancy like that. As far as the USB port goes, that's not really necessary but if it controls the Zune that could be another option. Right now my Cobalt has the Aux port and I just play playlists on my Zune, which works ok, unless I want to skip a song... What's the PDIM? Still new here.

The mirrors have sensors in them and detect lights (headlights) and auto dim so you don't get blinded. On the 2LT and 2SS the drivers side and rearview mirror have these sensors. The glass turns that I call a greenish when they dim. Hope that helps .
