Does anyone know how to find better status info? I went to 3800 on 4/18 and then not a word siince!

You might want to have your dealer call GM Dealer Business Center and find out what the status if your car is.

Who ever gave you the 3800 status can update you. If your car doesn't get held for QC you should have it before three weeks is up.
