Looking at this diagram, I'd have to remove the radio, swap out ac vents, you name it, it's not just a matter of popping one dash out and putting the other on. I just keep trying to convince myself that I can do it! A video would be encouraging!

I'm planning to do this at some point. When Ofer gets the MyLink retrofit finished, I might just tackle both at the same time.

I'm surprised that one of the many guys that added HUD to a 2010 hasn't done a video.

To do a Video is a lot of work, it takes 3 guys and it will be over 1 hr of video, dont think many will look at it.

Might not be too bad if we break it into parts video maybe

Remove center console power outlet, remove USB port aux input. Remove center console gauges, remove side panels, remove center console.

Remove trim on dash (ABL trim). Pull battery.
Pull out radio controls, pull out radio, pull a pillar trim. Remove gauge bezel, remove gauges, remove steering wheel trim, remove steering wheel.

Remove glove box, remove onstar module, remove onstar backup battery, unbolt airbag, remove center defroster vent, remove light sensor, unbolt dash.

Remove hood release, release diag connector, unclip fuse box, and remove the dash.

Once the dash is removed, then you can remove the center duct, cut the hole for the HUD switch and HUD if needed, then install HUD.

If we could break it into 3 15 minute videos, perhaps that would work.

The removal of the center console power adapter, and passenger airbag connector seemed to have given us the most fits. Figuring out how to remove the hood release and the fuse box was the other part that got us.

Sounds like you (and me) would need 4 total parts:
  1. 2012 DASH PART # (Dash only) #92242674
  2. Center outlet vent- #20965303
  3. Passenger leather insert with orange stching- #22880758
  4. Driver leather insert with orange stiching - #22838803
(or different part numbers for the driver/passenger insert depending on material and color preference)
Does anybody know what part numbers I need for the black leather dash inserts with light colored stitching I believe it is a white or grey. Thanks

I got a zl1 dash that came with eveything ( all the wiring hud, airbag controls etc.

I ordered a bunch of harnesses from gen5diy
Footwell
Hud
Abl
4 gauge pack.

but may have made a slight error as I ordered non zl1( my car is not a zl1) but am swapping in a zl1 dash. I know I have to reuse my DIC which I am ok with.

I've installed mylink in my old dash.

Which harnesses do I need to swap over?

The radio harness for sure since Ill be putting Mylink back in.
