Yeah I've looked on the forums and seen people paid way less than what im getting quoted, but i've talked to three different places so far and their all pretty much the same, I even had one quote of 1800. I would be willing to spend maybe a grand but I think thats about it. I guess here in michigan the prices are a lot higher or something.

Thanks for the responses guys!

I decided I will keep the appointment. It's just hard to part with $650 for no short term benefit unlike if I spent the money on an exhaust upgrade instead haha.

It's a reputable installer so I would hope he would clean it perfectly before applying it. If he doesn't he is just going to have to do the job again.

Ya you want to get it as soon as possible before you start to find chips. Dont forget to do the rocker's and the side gills.

I had mine done Thursday (7-14-11), and I am very pleased with the results, except, I have a non-stock hood and the film IS specific for the stock Camaro hood. Beware of potential challenges in this area!

I had mine done the week after I bought the car. It's one of the best investments you can make for your car. You shouldn't have to pay more than $800 or so, unless you're doing more than the full bumper, partial hood, mirrors, rear quarters, and rockers. I had that done for $700.

I used 3m - came in handy when I hit a retread on the highway about a week ago. The rubber buffed right off the film and left mostly no visible damage.

Actually you get a short term and long term benefit out of it... no chips. I always tell people you ned to get film on before you drive the ar off the lot if possible. I cant tell you how mant times over the years people have started getting chips quickly... the reason why they didnt get the film was for headers, or an intake, or whatever. You just bought a car and want to keep it loking new as long as possible. Get the fim ASAP for that purpose. Get used to the car and later on start modding. It doesnt make much sense for you to buy a 400hp car and then start immediately doing engine mods if you dont have a good feel for what your car is stock. Other than the sound difference will you really know if you are getting your money's worth on engine mods?
