Well, I just barely put it on at about 400 miles also. There isn't going to be much in there.

First remove your engine cover

Then connect the vacuum hose to the ports

Great Write up, but the inlets and outlets are labeled wrong should be opposite.

according to Tracy the inlet port on the can goes to the port on the valley and the check valve or outlet goes to the port on the supercharger snout so that is labeled correct according to Tracy at rx

(newbie) what exactly does the catch can do? Perfomance wise?

It's easier just to label it that way. That way you can help remove installer error when putting the catch can on.

So would I be a bad guy if I installed a catch can and vented it to atmosphere? The reason why I ask this is because I did just that to my sons quad and the engine instantly ran smoother with better response.

Venting to the atmosphere you are defeating the evacuation of the damaging combustion byproducts and only relieving pressure.

These compounds must be evacuated while still in a gasseous or supended state BEFORE they mix with the engine oil. A vented can is what you would use with a belt driven vacuum pump set-up as the pump takes care of the evacuation.

Yup, understand that 100%. So obviously the return from the catch can goes to the vac side of the supercharger and not the pressured side yes?
