i think they just think that the car i have now is really nice and i don't NEED a camaro. well no one NEEDS one, they WANT one. and i WANT one BAD! i just get lectured a lot by family, friends, etc. that think i'm being dumb getting one when i don't need it. it's getting super annoying.

There are 145 Camaros ordered in front of mine at Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, TX. It's all about how many allocations the dealer gets every month. Right now they don't have enough allocations to fill all the orders so I'm going to be waiting at 1100 for a while.

I would explain to them that you're saving up enough money so that your car payment on the Camaro would be around the same as it was on your car. So what's the problem? Then, just to be a jack@ss, I would probably point out all the things they spent money on that they didn't "need." Ha.

LOL! yeah i do that everytime. my mom though for some reason can't seem to get it through her head. i have to repeatedly say to her "mom my payment will only be about 19 dollars more than it is now". it's getting old. i don't really care what she thinks, it's just annoying to hear about it every time she talks to me! every time they go to a casino now i say really do you NEED to be blowing money at a casino! ha!

I ordered it before I sold my car, I was lucky enough to sell it the next day! By the time the car gets to the dealer, hopefully someone will want it.

Your daughter is buying a car. Something she has to have to get to school/work. You're going to a casino and literally betting on a roll of the dice!

I feel your pain as I'm in the same situation. I need to pay the GTP down enough to break even when I trade and also trying to save 9-10k to put down. I won't be ordering until spring of next year. Over the past two years I've been telling my gf how I wanted one and all she kept telling me that it was a stupid car... blah blah... Well her grandpa bought one last week and she pulled up in front of my house in it... DRIVING!! I haven't even ridden in one yet... needless to say I was a tad irritated. But now she likes the car... Blah! frustrating....

As a previous post mentioned, try advertising on AutoTrader. I think I paid for the $40 one that lets the ad run for 8 weeks. In essence, I got screwed out of the whole 8 weeks since my truck sold 9 days after I posted it.
And there's always going to be people telling you reasons not to buy the car. Some guy at work asked me "what car are you going to get?" I told him the Camaro and he shook his head and said, "You know they're going bankrupt right?" (This was back in May). Now he just looks the other way when I pull into the parking lot.
Everyone can give their opinions, but that's all it is, an opinion. It only matters what you decide to do because ultimately, you will have to live with the consequences or rewards of your decision.

Not sure how you got screwed out of the 8 weeks worth... you sold the truck, right ? It's all good ! I did the same thing with my last bike, the waiting was killing me... slightly different situation, the wife had agreed to my new bike, but not until the old one had sold, and that took forever !!! I put it on Autotrader and it sold in just a week ! Of course I had paid for one of those 8 week ads with extra pics ! LOL . But you know what ? The bike sold, I was at my Harley dealer that afternoon signing the paperwork for my new bike, and riding it home a couple of hours later !
