LOVE BUG TIME AAARGH!

anyone heard of using PAM cooking lube on the front of your car for love bug prevention? just curious if its safe on the paint as it sounds like it could work.

Not a good idea. And a mess at that.

Stick to a quality polish & sealant/wax at all times, and the bugs washed off as frequently as possible. Other than sealant/wax or a clear bra beyond that, you can't really do anything else for bugs.

my father in law recommended original pledge, but to make sure i get the one that is actual wax, not the synthetic furniture polish. My dad used to have a friend with an Olds 442 who swore by the same thing. Anyone else heard this? I am in love bug scout mode every time i park right now...

I just started using Zaino - bugs wipe off with little to no scrubbing..

Back in the day, we use to do our cars in Pledge when we showed them. Just couldn't beat the shine ...

I feel your pain. I have driven in clouds of those awful things and have had to pull over and clean the windshield in order to see.

I once read that the only natural enemy that the love bug has is vehicles.

Rain X on the windshield and a good polymer wax on the car makes clean up pretty easy, but don't let it sit too long before you wash the damn things off.

Washed the beast twice today, and dreading the swarms I will plow through on the way to Cape Coral tomorrow.

Just live in Las Vegas and you dont get to many bugs. You do have to peel a homeless drunk guy off the bumper now and then.

if you really love your Camaro you'll get the front end protected by a clear bra. I had mine done since day one and it's worth every penny. I love the the fact that I can use a wet paper towel to wipe or even scrub the bugs off my front end knowing I'm not doing any harm to the paint.

of course this says nothing about having superior protection against paint chips on the front end due to rocks and what not.
