Seems as though it is shaping up to be a "what interstate are you taking" therefore the next thing is the meeting points along the way of the route your taking and meeting places where interstates meet. Rest areas work well if you know approximate times of travel which will be hard to determine. Police escort will have to thought of also if this gets big.

You have some good points. However, the police escort should not be needed.

If it gets to 50 or more cars the escort may come as standard equipment, whether we want it or not.
