GMS- yes, employees and immediate family

GSU- could be any of a number of parts suppliers to GM. Along with this I believe is the "friends and family" plan where a GM employee can get authorization for the supplier level discount for "non-immediate" family- even a friend- but only once a year and restrictions apply.

That could be why they are trying to jack the price up because they know you want it, you're young, and parents would possibly be paying for it (or a chunk of)

Its a complete rip off is what it is.

For the love of God don't let your parents waste that much money needlessly. Even a ten hour drive is worth saving $10,000. That's $1000 an hour!

$31k is even lower then employee pricing on your set up, no way you'll get a dealer agree to that. The best you'll be able to get without any kind of discount would be $1,000 below MSRP which would be around $36k after taxes.

Noe, ditch the dealer. If you keep talking to him they will only rip you off more as they think you're going to buy from them no matter what they do.

The problem is that I don't have many other options. But I've got a trip planned for this coming Monday. Tell me if my strategy sounds good. Ok, I was planning on letting the dealer know that I'm not going to buy from them if they don't sell MSRP or close to that, and that I won't let my parents waste that much money. Also this whole raising the price due to "demand thing, I think is BS, I ordered that car for me! There's no demand on that car unless I refuse to buy it, then there are other buyers competing for it. If they refuse to consider, and don't act upon our request, we will politely tell them to cancel, ask for the deposit back, and leave. <<< Do those sound like some good points to make?

So, are you 'buying' in Amarillo?
Did I miss the dealers name? make sure it goes on our list of dealers,
I would call them , and ask to talk to the sales manager, business manager etc... Ask them if they will sell the car at msrp (they WILL make money) If not TELL them you need your deposit back, unless you signed some very specific papers, they should be able to return it. If they will not return it, definitely put their name our list of dealers to avoid. Let them know that WE will spread the word about how they treat you.
If worse comes to worse, you lose $1000 to them, but you will save $9000 if you cut ties with that dealer.
I know you are a long ways from ....almost everywhere. But 9 or 10K$, I am sure you can afford to travel... maybe to see 'our' CAMAROSCOTTY

Stay away from the slimeball dealer. It's been said too many times already...there are way too many honest MSRP dealers available to put up with this crap. As much as I want this car, if I had to wait another year to avoid paying this scumbag his extortion fee, I'd do it.

I read elsewhere that you should have another dealer ready who is selling at MSRP and give their name and phone # to the dealer your trying to convince to confirm to them that you do have someone to buy from if they don't lower the price. Has anyone tried this method. Oh and the dealer called my brother, INSTEAD OF ME! They told my brother that they don't have the prices for the car yet, until 20-30 days. How can that be? Because when I ordered, he had the document with all the prices of MSRP, Dealership Employee, ect. So how can he say that?

No time like the present to confront "the man" and let them know even though your a young kid your not an idiot. Do as other said and you dont need anyone else. Give it a roll! Dont shoot emails, face to face is the way to go.
Anyone can have email muscles.
