Wet sand to smooth out paint better?

Hey guys, has anyone tried to wet sand and polish there Camaro? I have done this before with a few of my old cars with awesome results! Not shure how thick the clear is on this car, I would like to make it like a mirror and remove the light orange peal.

do NOT wet sand your camaro. Even if you have a paint thickness measuring tool I still wouldn't do it. The clear on our cars is VERY thin. You can get your car to a mirror finish with simply polishing and buffing

Polish it and put a good wax and/or sealant on it.

98% of people won't even notice orange peal.

I wouldn't risk damaging your car to satisfy the other 2% of us.

I have wetsanded and polished before also but only on bikes I have painted. I won't wetsanded anything I did not paint.

My car stays polished and waxed all the time, just would like better! GM could have gave us thicker paint, that sucks! My last car I had painted, I wet sanded and buffed myself...turned out like a mirror.

I did something similiar with my Indigo Blue Silverado. Had a painter shoot clear over the factory paint job. Then I wet sanded and polished it out to a mirror finish. No more factory orange peel on that one!

Anyone do this on their Camaro? I'm considering doing it maybe 2-3 years out.

Would be cool if the factory offered "extra" clear coat as an option for those of us that would like to wet sand to a mirror like finish!! charge an extra $1000-1500. I would pay that if they added another 2-3 coats

Meh I wet sanded mine. It's not as thin as everyone says. It is just very soft due to it being Eco friendly. I wet sanded down with 1000 grit then 2000 without issue.
