BUT..........................

............don't lose sight of the fact that the Mustang is not only Ford's "Camaro" - it's also their "Corvette" --

Put another way - we COULD drop the Corvette and concentrate on Camaro only -- and if we did, America (and Canada) should take the entire team out behind the woodshed and shoot us!

Arguably, we're coming out of the worst two years that GM has ever had...not everything we wanted to happen happened because of that........but to assume we're 'done' with Camaro - well -- trust me - we aren't! There are many things being worked on for the future.......(we ARE listening.....) But some things don't happen overnight -especially when you are working on a new Corvette..... (and I can't talk about it -- so don't ask....)

So -- if you're a "Camaro-only" enthusiast - you might be disappointed. If, however, you are a "Chevy" enthusiast - you know that our performance cars now start out at 312hp -- and go up way past 600hp in the mighty ZR1 - and there are lots of choices from the bottom to the top........

:
So are these all of the changes for 2011? Nothing for V8's besides the 2SS getting HUD?

I am not against HUD, but some gears and suspension upgrades were probably 2x more important for a performance car...

EDIT: Want to note that I am not trying to be rude, just asking a question that is important to me.

DeathChill I think people on here, not saying you specifically, really fail to realize that gears and suspension upgrades are not as easy as just slapping parts on a car. For a factory car that is going to warranty this stuff it takes time to research, develop, test, certify, and implement these changes.

I definitely understand that, but I'm sure they've known since the beginning about the suspension issues and could have worked on it starting a year ago. Regardless, I know they are working hard, it's just a bit upsetting that there's no meaningful improvement for the 2011 year: Synergy Green and HUD. The v6 hasn't changed.

The suspension on the Camaro is not bad by any means.

I am sure it looks that way with the stang but ford has worked on the 2011 suspension for 5 years now. They first started offering a track pack after 5 years of the new stang. I am sure GM will be able to do it in less than that.

The car has been out for about 13 months. There are several cars out there that get nothing new for its second model year. The difference is most cars dont have such a devoted following. I do understand where you are coming from though. the only advice i can give is patients and faith.

If you have been around for a number of years like some of us have been, you will realize that the suspension and handling on the Camaro is remarkable. Try to get a '69 to handle the way this does...or a '78...'90?

Is there room for improvement? Sure there is. Does the average driver need the improvements? I highly doubt it.

GM did their best to make these cars very affordable for Joe Public. And I think they did a great job of it.

Worried about suspension and handling? There are aftermarkets out there a person can deal with to obtain the results they feel they desire or need.

This car is by no means a tank. I mean, it is what...300lbs heavier than the Mustang? That is not a lot. And remember, it is lighter than the Challenger.

But for GM to start making changes to suspension and such would be crazy. The price would go up. There would be warranties to worry about. And really...does Joe Public need tighter suspension to enjoy this car on the public roadways?
