Here's my time slip. It was at Memphis Motorsports (Memphis International) on 8/8/2013 at 10:05 P.M. I'm applying for: Bolt On's with Internal Engine Mods Stock Displacement (Corrected).

Mods are:

Stock Tires, UDP, Cam, Intake, PTB, Headers, Electric Exhaust Cutouts

My car is the LS3 - Manual

Corrected Time with DA from Drag Times:

Density Altitude: 2545 feet above sea level
Relative Density: 92.76 %

1/4 mile ET: 12.217 seconds

1/4 mile trap speed: 115.71 MPH

Stock and Mildly Modified Naturally Aspirated Engines 11.849 @ 119.381 MPH

Extensively Modified Naturally Aspirated Engines 11.97 @ 118.209 MPH

Extensively Modified Supercharged and Turbocharged Engines 12.078 @ 117.037 MPH

I don't get why supercharged listed with turbocharged. Turbocgarged makes same psi no matter atsmosphere lose from high DA. Supercharger only spins speed based on engine so loses psi with DA change. Shouldn't it be with Extensively Modified Naturally Aspirated?
Always wondered

Not that I know a whole lot about turbos and superchargers, but I'm pretty sure you're correct in that. Turbos aren't affected, whereas superchargers are.

I have no idea why drag times separates it out like that...maybe they didn't want another category but they didn't want to group the turbo into the Extensively Modified Naturally Aspirated category...who knows.

ALL internal combustion motors are affected by altitude/temp/DA. A big nitrous car would be the least affected since its providing its own pressure, oxygen and cooling though the base power made by the na motor would be less.

In regards to sc vs tc, they both suck air and they're both compressors so both are affected by crappy DA. The only difference is one causes parasitic loss to spin the turbine and one doesnt.

One benefit of forced induction over na in that situation is you MAY be able to raise the boost to compensate just like a nitrous car could run bigger jets. That said, if you're already running your fi car as hard as you can then you wont be able to simply turn up the boost just because you're at higher altitude or in crappy DA conditions.

Trust me when I say that turbo cars LOVE cold air and high air pressure... A forced induction car PLUS a shot of nitrous is an awesome combo!

I was sayi g cuz turbo will spin any speed neccessary to reach the springs 15psi.
Supercharger spins a set speed so if at half atmosphere it make half the boost ..
temp does kill turbos

Can't post this time slip without seeing track, date and time. Sorry that's rules. No way to enter run into DA calculator without that information.
