Echoing the daily driver comments the V6 does just fine and has 130 more peak HP than my previous ride. While I admirer the 2SS/RS I'm delighted with my 2LT/RS.

Not a chance. Test drove the L99, LS3, and V6. Loved them all, but when it came down to value for the dollar spent - V6 kicks tail! I won't win the drag race, but I am laughing all the way to the credit union!

Though I must confess, taking 35 mph curves at 95 mph was incredible with the 2SS, those 220 treadwear rating tires make for an expensive joyride.

For me it all comes down to "dollar and cents". I mean this is my everyday car and like alot of other members have mentioned I live in a city where it's stop go, plus for a camaro getting 29 hwy which is awesome. But also the cost of the V8 was something I could not afford at this time. I'm just happy to say I'm a 5th gen camaro owner either way and I still get enough power I need with a V6

nope

Looked at both drove both and thought the SS was overkill especially for the price difference. I am not taking my car to the track, don't street race and have no need to run 0-60 times all over town. I do appreciate getting 25 mph around town, getting all the stares (car is so new no one outside our community has a clue what the difference is I have to tell them it is not a V8) Also for every aftermarket part for the V8 it seems the V6 has the same one, but I can deck out RS and still have less money than a base SS.

Nope. Love it, its perfect as a daily driver. Have a Corvette anyway so its great on the weekends if I'm looking for the HP Fix.

The V6 has plenty of passing power, and really does perform great. I really like the gas milage thing. Was on the highway yesterday and avg. 31MPG so really happy with that.

No regrets here!

I met a guy at a cruise-in a couple months ago who'd picked up his SS within a day of me getting my 2LT. He said he was beginning to wonder if the extra 100hp was worth 7k more.

There are only a few things I could do with 400+ hp that I can't do well with 300+. Since most of those things are along the lines of "get myself killed," it doesn't seem like a good use of 7 grand.

How does the V6 sound? I had an 85 truck with a V6 and a flowmasterand it sounded like a V8 at certain rpms.

I have a V8 SS and I love it. I would have been happy with a V6 but would not have been fully satisfied somehow.

However if you need to find value in your V6 purchase, consider this: You're saving alot of money not just on the initial cost of the car, but on Insurance, Gas and repairs down the road.

You can win drag races!!!! Run the brackets! I find that my V6 is incredibly consistent even when hot-lapped, which is key to winning in the brackets... Last Saturday I made 2 back to back passes. Both were 14.800!!!

When I first bought my 2LT/RS I had a little bit of buyer's remorse/doubt regarding whether I should have bought the 2SS/RS. After a month of ownership, those doubts are gone. The V6 is a ton of fun to drive, gets great mpg, and saved me $7k. I love this car.

Along the same lines, I found a link on this site to the 1987 Camaro training video that was apparently given to dealers "back in the day." It interested me since my first Camaro was a 1987 V6 sport coupe. While watching the completely hilarious/corny video, I noted that the IROC-Z, which was described as having "gut-wrenching raw power," was a 220hp machine. So yeah, my current 304hp V6 is plenty.

And for the record... Love my 2LT RS... no regrets what so ever! It's my daily driver and my race car! Haven't quite turned it in to my show car.... yet... LOL!

All good comments - each has a reason that fits their needs. I ordered the 2SS / RS 6M; and I know I won't regret it. I ride a motorcycle as my daily commuter vehicle. M7 '08 Nissan Frontier - 1 year and 2 weeks old, has 7900 miles on it - and I've done camping, desert, and other trips with her. So, I won't regret the V8, higher gas prices, more expensive tires, etc. Again, it fits my need. No drag racing in my future either - too mature for that

I have the V6 and have no complaints. You must have had a reason for getting the V6 in the first place—I’d focus on that. It's a good place.

For the money, you got extraordinary value per HP and styling. If you were planning on racing, or just taking it out for the summer, then maybe you should have got a V8.

Besides gas mileage, I’m way ahead of my 77’ Camaro with the 350ci, 4bbl, 10mpg “summer” car.

Again, unless you have loads of money or want to race, I don’t really ever see a V6 owner ever hitting themselves on the forehead and saying they could have had a V8. Maybe rather – Wow, I can’t believe I almost got a V8, as you pass a pump (premium right?), pay insurance, pass a Challenger, Mustang, Audi A5, Audi TT, BMW 3, and and and.
