T56 BOLT ON SEQUENTIAL SHIFT CONVERSION
Looks like a new bolt on sequential shifter has been in development and is being released soon for the tremec T56. Talk is it should be available this year for the TR6060, looks pretty cool thought I would share it with you guys.

As long as this isn't the $20k deal that was mentioned in another thread...
I'd be a buyer at around the same price to upgrade exhaust, for example. His website just says don't get your hopes up on it being like, $600. But was that a sarcastic joke? Or was he saying that it might be, say, double that? I mean, it's just a bolt-on mechanism. If it were a complete modification of the internals of the tranny I could see the price being ridiculous. If it's in the $1k to $1500 range PUT ME ON THE LIST!!!!

Hmmm, a little more than I expected, but it looks like it's not unobtanium at $2700.
The video looks promising, and if this can still be used as an every day driver-type shifter I'm still interested... http://youtu.be/gO-ScsLXPoE

I'm very interested by this. Not only would you not miss shifts and shift more quickly, but you couldn't money shift either. It would simplify heel-toe shifting a little bit as well. I can get behind this.

Well, yes and no. I come from an offroading background and I know what you're thinking. If you pull/push hard enough on a dogged sequencer it'll go to the next gear up/down. With this setup you still have to deal with syncro gears. They don't engage unless the clutch is depressed or the engine speed matches the desired gear speed.
So come downshift time, say, coming into a corner at high speed, you will still have to either heal-toe on the downshift to rev the engine or hold the clutch in and press until the transmission will accept the gear change. A true sequential, say, racing transmission will require a complete transmission redesign. It's out there for the tr6060, but it's a $17,000 upgrade. This option just simplifies the shifting process - yank to upshift, push to downshift. I think though, that it has the promise to drop at least a couple tenths of the quarter mile for all but the best drivers, and easily improve track times.

Also, unlike a true sequential transmission, neutral is in between every gear, not just in one spot, so you could still miss the gear and get stuck in neutral...

I'm sure that's not what you meant, though... It's considered an 'upgrade' to the transmission. We often spend more than the cost of a brand new LS3 crate engine in upgrades to our LS3 engines in our Camaro to get more out of them. I'd bet the average person spends $2500-3k in intake, exhaust, and tunes just to add 50hp to an already 426hp engine. That $3k is half the cost of the engine itself for a 12% increase in power. Yet we justify it. If this transmission modification were proven to knock, say, two or three tenths off 0-60 or 1/4 mile times, or 2-3 seconds off track times, then it's an upgrade and may be worth it to some. Me personally, I just like the idea of yanking back hard for every upshift.

They sent me this video of it being used on the road in a worn out transmission with a crappy clutch. They commented that the shifts would be faster and smoother on a less used up gearbox. But the shift speeds here are pretty impressive!
