Rear fascia / quater panel alignment adjustment?

Any ideas on a DIY adjustment for where the rear fascia meets the quarter panel? The picture below is from the right rear. The pointy end sticks out. It catches on towels when washing and just generally bugs me! There's a screw right behind it but loosening, pressing in and tightening it doesn't help. I'm guessing that the wheel liner will need to come out to get the additional attachment points. I know that I can always take it back to the dealer for warranty work but often you leave with more problems than you started with.

Has anyone been inside their rear wheel wells that can give advice or even better photos?

Thanks!

I took my rear fascia off last weekend to paint the mufflers. In each wheel well, there is one bolt (on top) and three screws down the side of the wheel liner. There are no other bolts/screws behind the wheel liner to deal with. The sides of the fascia are snapped into place. I don't know if removing all those bolts/screws and trying to see if it can be pushe in further will help. Maybe some of the other snap points are not fully engaged causing your end to stick out. Or, you may be SOL and your fascia has a pre-dispostion to stick out.

You could probably convince the dealer to look at this under your bumper-to-bumper warranty.

I noticed that on mine too. I will leave mine as is, unless it gets worse.

Thanks for letting me know what's back there. I just ordered a set of wheels so I'll take a look behind the wheel liner when I make the switch.

Yeah, I know, but like I said... Often you take it in for something small and come out with a bigger problem. I'll only do that as a last resort.

It's only a problem when towels get hung on it. I'd hate for it to catch really good and snap off the tip off of that piece. It's not likely to happen but you never know. Besides that it just bothers me that it sticks out.

I had gotten some threads from one of my cleaning towels stuck in that same spot one time. Couldn't get it out for the life of me! So, I loosened the bolt I think you're referring to, and when I tightened it up, it closed the gap. Hopefully what Grinder19 suggested will work; else, dealer...

Good luck...
