Hot Cam Dealer Installed

I was thinking of getting a hot cam for my Camaro and have the dealer install it before I take it off the lot to keep the warranty.

But I was wondering which one is the best that I could have installed? and are dealers even doing this? I was hoping to get at least 40 horses out of it.

The hot cam offered by GMPP does not retain the warranty even if the dealer installs it.

dealer installs on power mods = shiftyyyyyyyy

and plus, look at all the hp people are making with intakes and exhaust already.

p.s i would do those first.. just my opinion.

p.p.s the components and install that go with cams can get $$$ pricey

Yeah I know it can get pricey, I just wanted to have a warranty this time around and was hoping if they did the install that I would keep it.

Im planning on doing the whole exhuast first probably the one by fastlane. But I'll probably end up supercharging just like with my current car in the end.

I call BS. If the dealer installs it, and it's a GMPP cam, it has to be warranty worthy. A quick call to GM customer serivce should clear it all up though. Better to do all the research before hand.

I agree with the everyone else though, I would do intake and exhaust first. Judging by the recent posts about full exhaust and dyno tuning, there is TONS of power to be had in those departments with out altering the car's driveability and gas mileage. Which any cam change with affect those two.

Yes, but as soon as you tune the car, the warranty is voided there, too. So, might as well do the hot cam or something similar.

I love the FASTLANE setup!!!

What the dealer offers is between you and the dealer. The GM Warranty does not cover the GMPP Cam even if a dealer installs the cam.

If the dealer wants to offer his own warranty then it's on him.

To sum it up, not covered.

Robin

What's the GMPP Part number for the Cam?

Also, what is the ETA on the shorty headers & the Cat-back exhaust?

Thanks

Read the terms of the warranty yourself. Never trust someone's opinion that has a financial interest. Like someone who is trying to sell your something.

NOICE! Im sure the "hot cam" specs arent really all that hairy... but it's comforting knowing that the cam was made by GMPP I guess.
