I have a Barton Shifter!! - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I have been wanting one since last summer. I had the SS coupe and installed a Hurst Billet Plus, not bad, reduced throw but a little notchy (word?).
Anyway i had the car at a show and Dave Barton had his SS there also, I had heard of him on C5 and asked to try his shifter. The difference to me was incredible and for less $$.
Fast forward to this year, no more SS but i now have a 2LT RS Vert 6M.
I detested the factory shifter so I contacted Dave directly (yes he answers the phone) and set up an appointment to bring my car and have the install done at his facility.
It happened this past Wednesday and i couldn't be happier.
Dave pulled the car in and by his own admission mine was the first vert on his lift. He didn't want to hurt my car so to be safe he actually called a contact at Red Line to make sure of the proper lift points.
The install went pretty smooth with the assistance of Dave's dad (another car guy) who boxed my factory unit and put it in my trunk.
I'm a believer!!!
45% reduction in throw
Positive gate
GREAT LOOKING!!!
Matches the interior much better than the Hurst (not a slam the Hurst provides a retro look)
Pricing - approximately 2/3 of the Hurst.
I'll try to report as it wears in but right now I have a huge smile.
Money well spent!!

Dam strait! Barton has to be by far the best bang for your buck. I love mine
