C5, next time you do an oil change, try sending a sample to Blackstone Labs for an analysis. Contact them first and they send you instructions and a sample bottle you mail in to them. Costs like $25 and it tells you all sorts of stuff. They also analyze if there's water or antifreeze in it. If you drain it hot, as we should, there shouldn't be any appreciable water in there.

Thank you for your service.

Interesting. Tracy said you have to empty them more often in colder weather. That looks like about 2oz which is what I get every oil change and I change every 3K

Colder weather and high humidity will cause a quicker build up in the catch can. What's there seems normal.

Well I didnt dump it. Came back out for lunch and started the car. The cold start was really rough. So I thought maybe it was sucking it up so I went and dumped it. Car ran real rough for about a half mile and if I let off the gas the exhaust was popping a lot (which my car stopped doing after headers) and my CEL came on. Car feels fine now though

Mine runs like a locomotive on cold starts below 20 deg out.
Smoothes out when the idle comes down.
If its popping that long I wonder if you have the dreaded stretched timing chains. Check if there are any pending codes like a P0008.

I didn't think about the cold. It is 8 degrees here. Started up this morning with a warm garage kept car. The exhaust pops stopped after it got warmed up. I was just afraid it was sucking up all that liquid. Cant believe it had that much after 100 miles. If I had the CC on for my 1600 mile trip I would have had to drain it every 300 miles....not even a tanks worth. Can't imagine what the engine looks like after 4000 miles and all that crap going into it

hey everyone! been a while since i've visited the v6 section of camaro5! Looking at a few performance upgrades for the ol' LLT! I looked around a bit, and i'm not sure if the sticky for performance upgrades is up to date or not. Just want to get some opinions on what long tube headers you all prefer, and if there is a set that seems to be better than others. I know about BBK, SW, and OBX. Anything else out there that's new for the v6?
