The ZL1 ran a 7.41.27. That article is painfully wrong.

Those didn't look like hot laps.

I may be a bit biased, but I would actually like to see the ZL1 be faster than the Z/28 at the Ring.

That would be funny, but I highly doubt that will be the case. What would be the point of the Z/28 if the ZL1 was faster on a road course.

The Z/28 could still be faster on some tracks, such as the factory test track where they claimed the Z/28 was 3 seconds faster. The ZL1 could just shine where more power is beneficial. Kinda like how the Shelby was faster around the track than the ZL1 in that one video with the comparison (don't remember which video or which track it was), and it was the power of the Shelby that allowed it to pull off the faster lap time.

clearly not written by an auto enthusiast, who would have caught the typo.

That is not going to happen, no way. The Z/28 will be faster. The ZL1 had an awesome lap at the ring no doubt, but the Z/28 is going to be faster. There is no way that it won't be. The tires and brakes account for close to 10 seconds alone. Just wait. That thing is going to haul ass on the ring.
