2013 ZL1 Convertible and Coupe Production Start Date Speculation

For those looking ahead to the 2013 ZL1 models, for whatever reason, from the limited allocation and availability of 2012 ZL1 models, to avoiding the initial rush and uncertainty associated with 2012 ZL1 orders, to waiting for the ZL1 convertible, to not wanting the first model year of a vehicle trim level, to wanting to save more cash for a larger down payment, etc., I believe that, based on the actual dates of the 2011 to 2012 model year production transition, the last 2012 ZL1 Coupes will be produced on Friday, June 29, 2012, and that 2013 ZL1 Convertible and Coupe production will begin on Monday, July 16, 2012.

Accordingly, it's likely that the final orders for 2012 models, along with the first orders for 2013 models, will be in the May 2012 time frame.

Of course, this is all pure speculation on my part. YMMV.

Wow Golden bear thats a long run sentence there. I'm normally the one
that does that, along with my typical mis spellings.
Kidding aside, I can see a number of reasons to wait till the 2013 models
come out next year. Most of which you have accounted for in your post.

If I find that the MSRP is something over the top or my dealer smells the
chance to cash in big time over the MSRP during the first rush. Or I hear
of them coming out with the ABM color, I may jump ship for the 2013.

Hopefully the 2013's will be available so that you can bring it up to the
camaro fest show in early August if you so desire. When did the 2012 models start showing up this year? That might be a good indication of at
least the hard tops. I will be watching the forums next year and look
forward to seeing a pic of your new ZL1 vert.

Production Started in the Middle of July, cars were available as early as middle of August.
