Zl1 vs Cam'd SS
Just moved to a new base and new house got my car up an running and finally starting to drive it. Washed it and had it looking beautiful today and as I come to park in the garage, across the way is a zl1 parked in the neighbors garage I park and admire it and think damn...
So wondering how I'd match up to a bone stock zl1 ? No track in Hawaii so just wondering what the match up would be like ? 2010 ss m6 I put down 491/439 Mod list: Tsp 2 inch headers Slp axel back exhaust High flow cats Hurst short throw shifter Vararam intake V max throttle body Bmr lowering springs Zl1 repo rims Michelin pilot super sports 285 front 315 rear Rx catch can Dyno tune Night fury cam 25% UD pulley C5r Timing chain Brian tooley 660 springs Melling high volume oil pump

I'd call that a drivers race unless it's an auto then I'm going to guess he will take you out of the hole and stay there. If it's a standard the winner will be who ever trees the other one.

At the track I see them running 11.70 to 12.20 bone stock.(with drags)
I think it would be a drivers race.

I say you have him. He's just about 300 lbs heavier with similar hp. You can run mid to high 11's all day with those numbers.

From the looks of it, you seem to have an advantage anyways, especially if the Z is stock. Way I see it. If I lose a race to another car, unless I just blow a shift, it's got to be a quick car. I mean, IMO, a ZL1 isn't a total monster in stock form. Sure, it's fast --- but what really stands out is how much quicker it is than the majority of sports cars produced past or present. And it's TOTALLY drivable and reliable!

Stock ZL1's put down 460HP/460TQ with the auto and 500HP/500TQ with the manual. From a stop if they have traction you will likely lose. Your advantage is power/weight from a roll if they are stock and you can shift.

FWIW I raced fellow board member Jeff_SS this past weekend at a 1/2 mile event and I beat him by a bumper and his car is making numbers very similar to yours and I'm stock.
Planned to wait for my warranty to expire but I'm going in for a little work soon...

I had a passenger, so without my passenger it could have been different, but still, it's honestly a drivers race if both manual. We went back and forth between each gear shift.
