I know I've watched these videos before, but recently (at C%Fest III) I was finally able to get my first stable of Adam's products (the essentials kit) and I just wanted to see if there's any good tips for the washing and waxing portion of the process in here, but now it says the videos are private and won't let me watch 'em. What gives?

Actually it's not the subscription you need, it's my granting of access. Since I am no longer affiliated with Adam's I made all those videos private. You'll need to send me your You Tube name in order to see those videos.

Thanks. Some of the newcomers have killed all the fun of hanging out so I only surface when summoned. I'll always be available to those who need me.

First off, you did absolutely nothing wrong. In my videos, I clearly state that SHR (or any abrasive polish), is going to "beat up your paint" and leave it somewhat hazy looking. Some aggressive polishes claim not to do this but at the right angle and in the right light, you will see this just as you did. I also state that the purpose of FMP (or any finishing polish), is to clean up the damage that SHR does to the paint. You haven't gotten that far yet in your progress but when you do, you will witness first hand how FMP will clean up the damage that SHR leaves behind. I stress that in my videos as I explain what each polish does, as well as it's purpose. That you missed.

Now you say that you made 4 or 5 passes and a little damage still remains. In my PC-7424XP videos, I stress how SAFE the PC is. It is NOT going to fix anything fast, it is going to fix it SAFELY. The PC is NOT powerful, it is effective. I stressed that to show the difference between more powerful polishers and the PC. Trust me, 4 or 5 passes is nothing. When you get up to around 20 passes, then we can talk. Remember, the damage that is removed with one pass is located at the top of the clear coat. The damage that remains is deeper. Deeper damage takes more passes to correct with the PC. Going to a more aggressive polish will work faster if your technique is solid, but that leaves more damage for you to deal with. You should NOT need to go more aggressive with a car as new as yours. Here's my mindset: I like using a smaller hammer and chipping away at the sculpture instead of using a big ol' hammer and accidentally busting the sculpture in half. This I cover in my videos because I have already been where you are and I know how your mind is working and what you are thinking. My videos, my videos, my videos. I was YOU at one time in my life and I know your pain.

Now I hope that you thoroughly washed that pad that you used and laid it under a fan to dry. If not, it will still be wet tomorrow and you won't be able to use it. That's why you buy more than one orange and white pad. They take longer to dry, especially the white one.

So now, stay on the path that you are on. You are going to have success but it is going to take time. Nobody picks up a golf club for the first time and shoots par for the course, I don't care who's threads you've read. You have to take their word by not looking at their car. I look at their car in person before taking their word.

He hasn't gotten that far yet. So far, he's right where he's suppose to be.
Very nice explanation.
