a six speed 1SS Camaro is going to beat any Cobalt SS that is stock... no matter whether its a SC or TC model... the Camaro has more engine, more chassis refinement and its designed to be faster... its just that simpe.

my dad has a basic cobalt, manual everything, and it's alot quicker than i expected. I can't even imagine what an ss cobalt with a stick would feel like...

As for failing at RWD, IRS, its a different design not a failure. ___________ Back to the original question, since this is in the 4th gen forum. A stock Cobalt SS will hang with and can beat a stock LT1 Camaro SS. A stock Cobalt SS won't hang with a stock LS1 Camaro SS. A stock Cobalt SS won't hang with a 5th Gen Camaro SS.

I cant wait to see what numbers the cobalt SS/TC will get when the GMPP stage kit comes out. GM is willing to warranty some pretty good numbers. The kit is already out on the LNF solstice/sky and HHR.
•2007 & 2008 Solstice/Sky Manual 290 Hp @5200 rpm and 340 ft-lbs @3600 •2007 & 2008 Solstice Auto 290 Hp @5200 rpm and 325 ft-lbs @3600 •2008 HHR SS Manual and Auto 290 Hp @5200 rpm and 315 ft-lbs @4800 340ft-Lbs under warranty in a car that light is nothing to look past. At the same time though, i'll never buy another FWD car. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Cobalt SS is the fastes FWD vehicle around the nurburgring. It is nothing to scoff at. That being said, Camaro SS>Cobalt SS

Your P.S. though is a different question. It's unclear at this time how a Camaro SS will stack up on a road track. I've only seen rumors and nothing confirmed. The rumor I saw was 8:19 at the 'ring. If that's true, that puts them pretty close. We'll see soon enough. |

i like the Cobalt SS. If i was buying a smaller car like that, hands down a Cobalt SS. No comparison to the Camaro SS. Your comparing apples to oranges. Raced a new tc cobalt ss with a couple mods and i still wiped him up badly. I had American Racing Headers though.

I have no idea what you just said. And now a sudden urge to put a palm on my face, or gun in my mouth. Whatever it takes to forget that you seriously just used "Maro" AND "house" as a verb in the same sentence.
And all the while, sporting a gross exaggeration. Whaddya know?

I owned a heavily modified 07 Cobalt SS/SC and I could keep up with C5 Vettes all day. I know we're talking stock here, but don't think for a second that those SS Cobalts are slow. I've surprised a lot of people with mine.

I first posted that you need to get an SS. I'd probably be a little disappointed with a V6 Camaros performance after owning the cars I've also owned the past 10 years. H/C LS1 z28, Stage 4 WRX, Stage 2 STi, H/C 05 GTO, Cammed, stalled 06 GTO, and now a bolt on 10 Camaro SS. But I see you now have an SS. Time to start modding and hopefully you won't be disappointed anymore. |
