Too late to change at event 3000 ?

Hey guys, i ordered a 1lt/rs, auto,c&c,boston acoustic on 3-13. Have since sold my ducati and have extra cash so called my dealer to change my order to a 1ss.He says im at 3000 and thinks its to late to change. So does anyone know for sure at what point in event code you can change your order. He did say i could cancel and start new order but then doesnt know when i will get my car

I think 2600 is the last code where you can change.

GM can try to change on a will try basis as long as you have not reached 3000. Once at 3000, no changes can be made.

3100 Actually.
Orders can only be changed as far as the "Placed" Tab in order WorkBench. This is status 2000. But at 3000 or below the dealer can request to have the order pulled back to 2000 with no promises that it can be done. Once the order is at 3100, thats all she wrote.

So the answer to the OP: The dealer can try, but if your order moves to 3100, you're out of luck.

The GM DBC tells you when you call that once it reaches 3000, not 3100, that all bets are off. All they do is put it back in the placed tab for the following week to modify. They do not actually change the order, just put it back where it can be changed.

The DBC absolutely DOES NOT tell you that nothing can be done at 3000. The cutoff is 3100. If someone told you 3000, they were wrong and need to educate themselves on how to perform their job properly. Nothing can be done at 3100. At 3000 they can still submit the request, but the order might get sequenced to production before the request gets completed. 3000 is iffy, 3100 is impossible.

But feel free to believe what you want.

I just had the sameissue with a Corvette order a few weeks ago and that's exactly what I was told by the DBC. "As long as it doesn't hit 3000, we will do it on a will try basis". Oh well. Hopefully, we won't have to find out for sure.

I guess we will agree to disagree.

Agree to disagree for sure.

I'm far too tired to fight, nor do I want to fight with anyone. The fact is, I KNOW the rules. Beyond any doubt. If you call in on Thursday (or any other day) with an order at 3000 you'll be told that if it hits 3100 before Monday night (when weekly In-System Returns are submitted), you're too late. If it doesn't reach 3100, you can make changes to it on Tuesday, because it will be moved back to 2000.

The "will try basis" speech is for anything in the "under 3100" category.

I am at 1100 on a 2LT and I am thinking of changing to a 2SS. My dealer says that will delay my order, True or false?
