Has anyone seen the SLP handheld tuner?

I was glancing through the classic industries 5th gen online catalog and on page 16 they have a handheld tuner for the v6. Anyone contact them on it, yet?

Not available yet. Not enough gains to be had with stock motor or even with bolt ons to warrant the purchase. When FI becomes more common you might see it.

USA1, this is apparently is a Diablo Sport unit used by SLP. Both their sites show this as a v8 SS only item, but the catalog you refer to definitely says there's a v6 app as well. I suggest you call SLP directly for more info ...

How much do other cars normally get with just a tune? I always thought the tune and FI go hand in hand. I mean, if tuners waited for FI, and the companies making FI are waiting for a tune, how does anything ever get done? lol

This will vary from one model of vehicle to another.

They have the v6 handheld in the catalog. Not with some package. Not with FI. I was just wondering if anyone had been in contact with SLP to talk to them yet and just how flexible it is. Are you sure it isn't available, yet?

i got a email back from them today, this is what they sent me...

We are finishing up TCM support and then will release a basic tool. I say basic because we found little to no additional power from strict engine tuning. Once we finish up with the TCM tuning it will open up a lot more possibilities. If anybody else tells you there is a lot of power to pull out of that engine with a tuner, they are lying between the teeth! That car runs great stock

I'm not saying there's a lot of power to be had with a basic tune, but I'm trying to find out what all these handhelds can ultimately do.

I'm used to tuning with a 9/16" wrench, screwdriver, vacuum gauge, and sparkplug socket/wrench. Some of this does make overall sense(having a mechanical background) but getting from point A to point B is definitely taking a different route than what I'm used to. Part of me just wants to take a sportsman's fogger setup and see if I can just plumb the intake for 6 nozzles and go for it. I know I can't exactly do that.

But I want to.
