New to Camaro, need help with possible mods!
Hello all,
This is my first time posting in the forum. I recently purchased a 2014 2SS. As I'm not too familiar with these cars, I've done quite a bit of research in the last few weeks in terms of possible modifications. Although I plan on holding out on modifications for a month or two, it's never too early to get an idea of where I'm heading with this thing... I was thinking of starting with CAI intake system to start http://www.phastekperformance.com/20...dairintake.htm Eventually save up some money to add cat-back exhausts? http://www.phastekperformance.com/20...back-15307.htm Would that be the best way to start? Also, do you recommend any alternatives to intake/exhaust links I posted? What else would would you consider adding? Thanks in advance for the help, it's much appreciated! |

Catch can ? I don't know if the 2014's still need it . If anyone has any insight into this I would greatly appreciate it if you shared . CAI would also be a good "Beginner Mod"

Dark,
Great looking SS buddy....love that hood. My first upgrade was a CAI intake. Saw / felt an instant seat of the pants feel and sound. Just starting the car and backing out of the garage the throttle response was significantly improved. Then I noticed the increased growl from the exhaust once on the road. Worth every penny... And oh, it looks really cool.

Check out Apex or jdp, both vendors here, I think both have CAI and exhaust packages which might help you save some $$$

Dark I would add long tube headers to the list 1 7/8, a cam, sway bars, and new tires.
Texas S&P has long tube headers that are affordable and sound good. The quality is nice as well. For your exhaust make sure you don't buy a set that is too loud for your tastes. Get the right exhaust the first time. Cams are one of my favorite mods not only for the sound they add but the power to. Make sure you know what you want before you buy. Many have the go big or go home mentality with cams but it is one of those purchases that should stay inline with your future mods down the road. This forum is loaded with info and vendors to help you out on that one. Sway bars are a suspension mod you will love the moment you drive off the lot. The improvement in handling they offer can be felt the first corner you take. Tires are your most important mod and I never liked the P-zero's so it's best to start right away researching what brand will benefit you the most. I'd run those P-zero's down to get your money's worth out of them then look for an upgrade. I favor Nitto's. |

Do you personally have the Texas S&P long tube headers and if so, do you have a link to the product and/or video or how it sounds? Regarding cams, anything specific you recommend? Can you direct me to some good resources? Sway bars sound like an excellent idea, might be my second mod after CAI. I was thinking of something like this... http://www.phastekperformance.com/20...-38162.320.htm I'll definitely wait to run down these tires but it shouldn't take too long |
