Threads being marked as read when they wern't
Threads being marked as read when they wern't.
when you log in and goto a section, threads you have not read are bold, ones you read it, its muted. But because I had read a few post in the OT section, why are threads with new post in the gen auto section I haven't read yet being muted out like I already read them??? Seem like something is set up wrong. |

I can't say that's happened to me...how strange... Are you idle online for an extended amount of time? There's a 30 minute window or so where threads will be unhighlighted if you're idle and don't read them. |

I have seen a few that are not bold that I haven't read. I check the date and time on some threads to see if I have visited them or not.

Not really !
In all seriousness Not really. Just an observation by someone who must have been concerned enough to inquire about it.Thats all.

So it only last for 30 mins, ok just asking.
In my own forum new post stay marked as new till read, take several weeks before the forum blanks them out. and for those who ask, when your a busy person it easier to just quickly scan each section for the bold [new] post to see if anything you were intrested in, has been updated. It takes allot more time when ya can't just quick eye scan and see. [Why the bold for new post was invented] |
