another Hennessey fail....does he not know a manual Hellcat exists or is he intentionally trying to skew the results?

Manuals just don't hold up to autos nowadays. I'll wait for the auto vs auto race.

The power and weight differences were noted, but what might be more telling at high speed would be the difference in aerodynamic drag. My guess is that puts the (obvious from the get-go) power advantage to the H'cat, but the other two in the ZL1's court.
They really were running very close to even except for when the ZL1 needed to upshift. While that makes the H'cat as a car quicker, it doesn't make its car+driver combination better. Norm

This outcome is no surprise an A10 would make this a much different race. Needless thing to say here is on a road course the Hellcat will get obliterated

One actual ZL1 owner reported a match between his car and his friend's Hellkitty. He would out launch with the Hellkitty slowly creeping back into it at the top end.
Dodge has built a really fast car even with the weight.

Stock vs Stock at NE dragway id bet on the Zl1 A10 every time. Ive seen more than a few make passes and have had a chance to drive the Charger. factory tires its any ones guess, maybe break into the 12s? or get them to stick and run high 11s. DR only consistent 10.6-10.7 every time
On the street in NE with charger factory tires... putting power down on these roads is scary in the cat. Have a hard time finding the happy medium, Either spin or cut power. They are no joke with DR's

These are the two cars they had and they raced them. No one has an auto ZL1 yet. Might as well take the opportunity. This is just another point of reference.

10.8 was his best pass of the night. I thought 10.7 range dr only was the fastest of all time confirmed stock. Not every time. Maybe on your track but not here. It won't even run 10s in the summer here. He worked his ass off to get into the 10s in negative DA. That said. A10 vs a8 I'm not sure which will be faster. I wouldn't be surprised either way |

Yes agree every track is different everyday, the Stock HC charger with some basic Weight reduction and DR's seems to be a consistent high 10s car? The 3 or 4 i know here manage to keep up
What i was getting at is as a street performance car the HC is lacking on its dated chassis and TMS abilities. No comparison to the new ZL1 and 10speed heading its way. With both being at the same price point Ive found the gen6 M6 SS has proven to be quicker and far more responsive, off those long straights..

Realistic match up. More likely then not if you are buying a zl1 you will buy a stick and on a hellcat the common is auto.

New news is that Dodge is introducing a Hellcat killing Challenger Demon. 2018 model which will be on sale this year. I knew they couldn't stand it when the ZL1 produced the numbers. LMAO

"More power" is the only card Dodge has to play. It's a very old chassis and they can't afford to develop a new one.
