Check Engine light and fresh air intake
Check engine light came on today I have had the K&N fresh air intake on for a couple hundred miles has anyone had this happen. The manual warns of fresh air intake any one know of a fix. I go to the dealer monday morning we will see what the code says. I see alot of cars with this mod.

If it is from the intake: Probably Your Air/Fuel ratio is now "off" according to what the computer expects. Or in other words: too much air, which is what you wanted. The dealer might not like this, because you might have change your factory tune to get rid of the code.

Be sure the tube connections are tight.
Mine did this last week. I hit the OnStar button and they told me the code. I knew right away what caused the light to come on at that point. Opened the hood and there it was...

What the hose clamps were loose and what was the code OnStar gave you mass air flow sensor or emissions.

Had a person in our club, over oil his filter and the dealer charged him over 700.00 to fix it, get some MAF sensor cleaner and that should clear the codes. Just make sure that the filter is not over oiled.

I have heard of this and made sure it was lightly oiled but I will check again.

Happened to me, one of the clamps came loose. Just tightened it back up and the code was gone.

Thanks Everyone the light is out. Cleaned MAF checked hose clamps light was still ON. Drove for roughly 50 miles shut car off went in store came out started car baboom light was OFF. Light has been off now for 50 miles and car has never ran or idled better. Previous to the "Light" I had hit rev limiter and was playing a little heavy with the car. Possible I pulled a little oil off of th K&N air filter.
Thanks again for all help given.

I am thinking about putting on the K&N opened filter but was told that it will effect the O2 senior. Is this true. Does the K&N bolt on without any other changes? Was there mush of a performance boost. I noticed at the NY Car show that the all new Z28 Camaro has what looks like a K&N filter system. Does anyone know if that O2 seniors is different?
