Clear Bra Just Installed Today!! 2SS IBM - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Just had the 3M Clear Bra put on my SS Camaro IBM. It took about 3 hours and I had the whole front end, hood upto 24" and mirrors done. The company(Central Coast Clear Bra) I used is a mobile service and did it all in my garage. The 3M has a 5 year warranty and the installer has a 2 year warranty for installation. Total price was $720 because that is one of, if not the primary question people want to know.
Here are some pictures and keep in mind the Imperial Blue and Black colors are going to show the most. The first 3 pics are the car before and all rest are after the Bra was installed. All the pictures of the Bra were taken 2 feet to about 6 inches away from the car so that you can see it,from over 3 feet away you can not see it and looking at the car straight on you can not tell it is on there.

Thanks for the pics, i'm getting mine done as soon as the stripes get painted on. Looks great a no more rock chips.

I got a quote from the local mobile service, because im thinking about doing it for my camaro as I expect to have the car for a long time (this is my second car, 1st that I am buying myself).

Hood, fender,mirror and upper bumper kit $365.00
Lower and Middle Bumper kit $485.00

So i'm looking at a total of $850, before tax. Includes Labor & Materials.

$720 was the total out the door cost for the Hood, upper bumper, mirrors, front and lower bumper, and side of fenders. And it was all done from my garage, so that was alot better than driving and dropping it off at a shop for at least 4 hours. Hope this gives others an idea of the cost and what options are out there.:rolleyes:

Has there been any mention of the fading characteristics of the 3M clear bra? Meaning, is the paint under the coating going to fade at a different rate then the unprotected paint over time? I'd like to get this done, but dont want to run around with a two-tone car several years from now. Even waxing and garage storage doesnt completely prevent fading over time. Any info/advice on this is appreciated.

I was looking for some prices and found how the "Clear Bra" came about,

History of Paint Protection Film

The US military needed a product that can protect helicopter and plane propeller blades in desert environments.
