this is not good news and definitely gives you some doubt about being covered for a car specifically made for the track. wish they were more transparent about what is "excessive" use or give you specific reasons for their decision.

I've seen this car at the track. I love the white carbon fiber wrap and Z28 across the back of car. I hope it works out for him.

From what I've seen on LS7's covered by Chevy, here's what I've learned.

1.Chevy Custy service trolls forums, so don't ever post anything you don't want used against you. i.e. if you doing something that they could misinterpret don't talk about it
2. Don't try the case in a public forum, first work quietly with the Regional Service rep or Chevy engineering to work it out first. In Tulsa we have a couple of customer friendly dealers..Danny Beck and Glover Chevy..great dealers.
3.Al Oppenheimer is on the Camaro 5 forum, find him by search, me I'd make sure I sent him the details via PM, again NOT public; it can never hurt.

An unmodified LS7 ought to be covered.

Facebook and social media has created a new level of stupidity among many who go out and post the dumbest warranty breaking acts; I guess I'm older and could care less about FB. Anyway; it amazes me when people post those; and then the car company customer service calls them on it (I've seen several in the last few years); so private discussion is the best way.

Good luck

I believe I ran with him at Lime Rock back in April. Nice guy, we discussed wheels and tire sizes; he was running Bridgestone 325s in the rear, if i recall. I wish him success. We need to know that GM will stand behind its promises, whether written or spoken!

At the moment, still NO.

The cite "extreme use". How a roll bar, seats and harnesses in an otherwise stock vehicle means extreme, they've apparently not seen some build threads...

Car has 7000 miles.

Such a pity.

Maybe lesson learned for all of us is to return the car to stock OEM condition as possible before going to the dealer for any major warranty repair?

Just a thought.

Have they run a computer analysis? If not, then not sure what they're basing it on. If so, then they have discovered something that caused the failure. Still, it's a track car.... unless he downshifted and severely over revved or modded the engine in anyway hard to imagine why it wouldn't be covered.

I'm leaving the tune stock with headers this time. I wish you luck with the warranty coverage.
