porting and polishing

alright i have a 97 4.3 vortec engine in my truck but she is kinda dead because the tranny blew (literally blew the tail housing to pieces and pretty much every thing inside lol) but she still runs strong with zero problems at 185k

so my question is since its just sitting for now it's time for a rebuild and i was wondering if it will be worth me porting and polishing the intake, heads, and manifolds. and maybe have the heads milled down about 2 thousandths for a lil more compression, but thats later

so do yall think it will be worth the time, nothing too extreme just gasket matching and cleaning them up a bit

i will probably go ahead and bore it .030 over and stroke it if i can find a crank

that way i can have a v6 version of a 383 stroker lol, just not as big more like 287 or something

might go bigger if i can find it lol
