Sketchy Dyno shop? Stock HP read low on LS3?
So I thought I would take my camaro to a local dyno shop, but I wanted to see what you guys thought about my hp/tq numbers.
The only mods I have on my car are CAI and a Diablo predator programmer, and I know both of those claim promising HP gains, However... With that said, my car pushed out 343rwhp and 337tq. Are those pretty acurate? OR should I be concerned that this Dyno shop didnt really know what the F*** they were doing? BTW I have the Manual trans.

Depends on the kind of dyno. And please don't tell me that you thought the LS3 put down 426rwhp.

A thread
There's a thread with a hundred dyno results for both LS3 and L99. Your's seems a little low. There are so many variables it's not even worth getting it done unless you're buying a tune along with it. Mine with $3K in mods read so low, I thought there must be something seriously wrong, but then my ETs dropped remarkably and I don't have trouble staying with LS3s with similar mods and beat most. I'm number 19 or so on the 1/4 mile with bolt ons list without DRs, so I think I like whatever HP I'm making....lol.

It's not so far out that the shop should be necessarily called into question but it seems low to me.
Usually we see in the 345 to 350 range. But one dyno to the next is gonna be different. Not knowing what tune is in the Diablo it's hard to speculate. And the CAI is hit or miss. I wouldn't be alarmed. |

Seems a little low but I don't trust plug in programmers. Hot day, cold day, is your engine broken in (30k miles)? Still running synthetic oil?

your #s are low even for a 100% stock LS3. I bet it'll be more with the stock tune. Like PQ said, the CAI is very negligible unless your car is professionally dyno tuned with it.

Doesn't matter with those numbers. That's WAY low. Stock L99s typically will come in around 325 give or take a few. |

You're not even broken in yet. I'd set that tuner back to a stock tune and never use it again. After you have about 10K on the car, get it dyno tuned by a professional.

You'd be surprised how many noobs ask a question like that. Some have no clue that there's parasitic loss in power.
