Grand total of six times that I shoveled the drive yesterday. Otherwise I would have had 3-4 foot drifts to shovel today!! The Camaro has not seen the light of day since the storm started though! May take wifes car tomorrow. Routes 7 and 28 were ok by this afternoon. Could be much better. 267 was really well plowed and salted. No issues there. We'll see what Monday brings!!

sorry .... it's my fault. leaving work in herndon on friday, i joked with a buddy that we'd only get a dusting .... when do those weather guys ever get it right !!!!! who would have thought !!!! we spent friday evening shopping at dulles town center and the leesburg outlets, only to end up in a white knuckle drive home at 10 pm. one camaro is tucked safely in a garage, and i shoveled the '99z out yesterday. over 20" here in charles town this weekend.

i did donuts coming into leesburg last year in the z, so will be more cautious this year. the suburban can still do donuts, i guess, but it can also crawl in 4wd.

We had anywhere from 17" to 20+". Camaro is tucked away in the garage pending spring.

Snoop,

I was driving. She was a passenger. We found a big empty parking lot. It is amazing how you can get the burb so spin like that.

We got atleast two feet and it's not going anywhere soon. Was shoveling for two days. More than eights hours. I'm good for the rest of the year.

I went out Sunday and Monday and Today (back to work). Charles county really dropped the ball plowing my subdivision. Only plowed once Saturday night, no salt. Spent two hours Sunday shoveling and helping a 350Z and an Expedition back out of their parking slots. Then I made a short trip to the grocery store and Best Buy. Looks like none of the secondary roads were plowed more than once and none treated. All were covered with about 3 inches of impacted snow. 301 was okay though.

I took it extreamly slowly, had no choice really, the ice was intensly rough and the SS supension was bouncing me all over the place. Yet I never really had any traction problems except a short spell getting out of Best Buy's exit back on to 301. Got stuck there for a few minutes but was able to rock my way out.

Near Andrews today, Malcolm road was really bad and I should not have tried it. Again, covered in rough ice and Bumblebee was bouncing so much that this was the only time where I felt her trying to fishtail on me.

All and all, the fear of the summer tires seems to be a bit overstated. I had no problems fishtailing, stopping, or coming off a standing start (except for that best buy exit). But, slow and steady is the key - on that Malcolm road exit I was only going 7 MPH till I got back on the pavement.
