RJT SS Painted with light

Hello, I am new here. I do a little photography and decided to play around with a technique called painting with light on my 2011 SS.

Basically, you use a slow shutter speed and you use a light source such as a flashlight and "paint" over the subject while the shutter is open. I want to try it again with a more powerful flashlight but thought it looked pretty cool and my baby looks marvelous against the back drop of downtown Miami.

You don't need one. Set your camera to manual. Set your aperture between f8 and f10. Now use your cameras meter and set your speed where the camera tells you. The camera will expose for the average light in the frame so your subject would end up underexposed due to the brighter background. Make sure you are using a steady tripod and fire the shutter. Use a flashlight to paint over your subject. The longer you hold the light over an area the brighter it will be. Experiment and you can get some cool effects.
