Interior - add color or keep basic black?
I have a yellow LT2 with black single stripe and side vents. The interior is basic black. At first I found it unexciting and, well, dull. I was all fit to go and get some customization to bring the yellow into the interior with door trim, shifter knob, steering wheel, seats, and maybe floor mats with a yellow bow tie.
This weekend I caught a glimpse of my car with the door open from just the right angle and really loved the basic black. Now I am torn. What do you all think - our choices from the factory are quite limited - do you prefer the single tone interior or should I add some bright color flashes to the interior? If you have a back or gray interior what is your opinion of your own interior? Do you have plans to change it? Why? If not then also, why? Please share your own plans and opinions and maybe it'll help me with my own. Thanks -E |

I went with beige, black to me make the interior too dark in side. guess it depends on the color of the exterior of the car. I love the way my car came out...

I worry that adding a little won't be enough - and adding too much would be, well, too much. Then I look at the black interior and think - "hmm, that looks sorta neat".

Why not check into stitching the seats yellow?
I really wanted the IOM exterior with clack interior with orange stitching...I opted for IOM interior.

I've seen some fairly pricey custom seat covers online that don't look too bad, but I have not seen any of them in person. My only experience is with the cheapo ones I got as a kid and they were crap.

Of course this is MY tastes, but if I were to have gotten a Yellow Car, I would have gotten, if it were available, and its not at the moment, I would have gotten a Interior like the IO but in YELLOW. and as Dallas mentioned, if you want to go to that extent, as I would, look up Katzkins, they do a great job.

Yup, love the IOM interior on my Black 2SS! Love the ABL in the doors, and soon in the dash. The IOM trim on everything really brings out the black

Keep the basic Black Its always in style. However, you can get some great custom mats like i did with a yellow bow tie to match the yellow paint not the typical tan gold chevy bow tie. I special ordered mine from a company and am real happy with the, it will set your car apart from the norm. Sit in the car and you will notice as you look around once your in there wheres that yellow gonna go, it will be kind of standing out once the door is closed. A little yellow in the mat is okay, but sometimes less is more and keeps the car more refined. Have your seat covers wear yellow lace panties if you want to see something yellow in the car. I drive a yellow SSII with sunroof and RS package

I know how you feel. I have the yellow/black combo. I have been thinking of replacing the cloth or glossy plastic door inserts, depending on the trim level, with yellow panels. If I didn't have the sunroof it would feel like a cave in there (just my opinion, don't take it personally), but the black interior will never go out of style.
