Little snow in N.Y.
I knew this beast would suck in the snow.
But i dont ever regreat buying my baby. On the 27th i cought wind that a storm was coming in snow, rain and ice, so on my way home it hit. I was stuck at a Truck stop rest area for 15 hrs just waiting for a plow truck to clean the drive way. Now today, a small amount hit......about 2 inchs, Thank god i was working 2 shifts, by the time i went home, it was 90% clean. |

Get some winter tires and you'll be set!

Yeah, if you don't see much snow (lucky!), all seasons will work out a lot better than summer tires.

I've been using snow tires for the past 2 seasons and the car is very solid in anything under 6-7 inches. In the storm before this there were a ton of cars stuck or spun out on my route home. It was literally just me and suvs making it up the hills, everyone else had to ditch their cars or wait quite some time.
I recommend the Pirelli scorpion snow and ices and Bridgestone Blizzaks. The Blizakks are a bit better. Make sure you run a narrow size too. I run 235s. |

Blizzaks are amazing, I have the WS70's and they work phenomenal on snow and ice. I have no lack of confidence going through roads that haven't been plowed yet.

I might eventually try those, been using the LM-60 and they've been good in multiple storms. The 70 has to be better in the snow though.

I live in AK. Lots of people run Blizzaks up here (including me) and love them. They are a great winter tire. Still, up here there are just too many hills and icy conditions to run a rear wheel drive car. Personally I don't even like FWD up here and love having 4WD at the touch of my fingers. My Camaro is stored, but if you're looking for a great winter tire Blizzaks rock.
The other poster was right too. You want a narrow size to cut thru the snow and increase the weight on the contact area for traction. |
