400$ plus for gas a month? To own a camaro ss?

So just to travel to work and back everyday to work 5 days a week is 20$ a day It's all highway about 20mim from the house plus I have weekends that's when I actually "drive it hard" anyway what are some things I can do to improve my mpg please add to my list....... I understand another car is a option but for now let's tune her up.

-93 super gas

What is the DIC showing for average MPG? $20 a day for a 20 minute highway drive seems a bit much, I would think about 1/2 of that depending on how hard you run it. $20 = 5 gallons of gas x15 MPG = 75 miles?

Am I off base with the estimates?

Based on what you provided your getting about 8 miles to the gallon with mostly highway driving. Either your driving more than the info you provided or there is something wrong with your car. I getting 18.7 for all around.

I drive 136 miles round trip every day and 90% interstate. It costs me about $21/day. That seems a bit much for such a short trip even in traffic.

The last thing I thought about when I got an SS was gas mileage, that's just me though.

A simple search can surface a couple of threads of your interest.

If you're concerned with gas mileage, a V8 muscle car is not for you. My DD, a Chevy Cruze, gets 35.5 MPG. I constantly check the MPG in that. After 3 years of SS ownership, I've never checked the MPG once.

I drive to school like 35 miles each way and to work and for everything else and I have a V6 and most months gas gets in the upper $300s or sometimes breaks $400 per month

Traded my Cruze for a 2LT (need to maintain SOME fuel efficiency) and I miss that 32-35mpg for sure. And I didn't feel the need to wash my Cruze 2x a week to keep it clean...

some people don't have the luxury of having two cars. I had my Mustang GT though college, and it was great. I could care less how much I spent on the car or gas. Once I moved out, got married had responsibilities, spending 300-400 plus a month in gas wasn't an option.

How many miles a week do you drive?

I am just glad I have a Cruze Eco as a daily driver right now, I drive about 200-250 miles a week and it totals to about 18-20 dollars a week.
