The 1LE's transmission has closer 3rd and 4th gear ratios than a regular SS. The wheel/tire package is almost an inch smaller in diameter. All this puts the 1LE at a gearing advantage. The square 285mm GY's provide the grip advantage.

It will blow away a stock SS from corner to corner carrying higher speeds. So yes it's meant for a straight line.
