I need to vent right now - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Have the week off and took my son out for the day for some basics....
Anyways...get out of the farmer's market this morning and find a cart into the back side of my car. I was parked literally 20 spaces from everyone else. I notice there is a nice scratch on it but figure I will buff it out today...aggravating....so run to AA to grab some polish and then stop at Target and Home Depot to grab some misc stuff.

I come out of home depot and it looks like the sun was reflecting real odd off the front quarter panel of my car. Put my sun in his baby seat and wipe the area and the "C" of the camaro emblem crumbles off. There is a nice 12 inch dent in the car. Call the cops, file a report, go get estimates. My deductible is 500 so no use going with insurance now since this is a 600 fix. The officer said that it is a car door that was slammed into my car (with force) and they left. Officer even noted that I am out in the back so someone must have pulled up and parked, hit me, and left. I hope they get caught.

I can't believe how disrespectful people are. I park in the back everywhere I go....I just can't believe people are like this. Got an appt late January to get her fixed, but for now will be rocking the dent in my "AMARO"

I just needed to vent...quite livid right now.
Here are the pics...and yes, car is dirty. I am getting this fixed as well as the smaller dent popped in the front and the front fascia repainted in about 3 weeks.

thanks everyone. Police will be checking cameras at both locations it could have happened (farmer's market is right next to bank and I park straight out from the bank). They are classifying it as property damage and not an accident since it wasn't technically a hit and run type situation. Hopefully something pops up on the cameras.

Very frustrating because we all work for our cash and I understand accidents happen, but don't leave a foot crease in my vehicle and not even a note. I will have to read the report in a week. Rather see a couple hundred coming out of their pocket than mine.

If you have "uninsured property damage" coverage on your car, the deductible is usually $300. If you have that coverage, I'd check with your insurance co--might save you a few bones. In most states, UMPD claims like that are not chargeable--meaning they can't raise your rates for that claim.
