Ford is coming on strong with various Mustang models Like the GT500, GT350,
the Boss, GT, GT Calif., and the Mustang 6 bager.

Wake up Chevy, you need more models on the show room floor now not next year. The obvious Z-28, a dressed up BMW style Camaro that could be brought on line now. How about various engines offered. How about a base line Camaro with no frills too.

What FenwickHockey said. The new Mustang has not gained on the Camaro at all. It is my belief that Ford went too big on the price point. Think about it, ford is throwing incentives at the Mustang and Chevy is not and it STILL outsold the Mustang.

Nice graphs, I hope everybody and there brother either buys a Mustang or a Camaro, I like seeing a rare Challenger. When I used to show my Mustang, there would be at least 10 Mustangs in the show, now its the same, but now you see 10 Camaro's and at least 10 Stangs.

Just my 2 cents.

Does that mean that the lame dealers who still have 2010 Camaros want to add $2000 in ADM, then give you the $1500 incentive? The onbly reason any dealers have 2010 Camaros is they were greedy and wouldn't get off of them and now GM has got to give them $1500 so they will order 2011s.

Mustangs were always a less expensive option to the Camaro.

What is interesting is how the Challenger sales are moving up. Man that car is huge and drives like patio furniture. The 2011s are supposedly a big step up, but that is one large vehicle.

The Camaro is so much better looking than the Mustang as to be ridiculous, i think it's poor visibility is losing it sales.
Seems like that is something that some people commonly state however whenever I research I find this not to be true. The MSRP of the Camaro and Mustang at least from the 1990s until the Camaro was killed off has generally been within $200-$400 of eachother with sometimes the Mustang being cheaper and other times the Camaro being cheaper.

Its possible that during this period of time Ford offered heavy incentives on the Mustang to help it sell better. However the Mustang being cheaper seems to be a complete myth.

As far as the 2011 Mustang being one large vehicle its the same exact size as the 2010 model year.

I agree, GM doesn't need to throw it all on the table just yet.

Re: Pricing

I bought 5 Camaros in the '80s so I am going off what was my experience.
'83 Z28 Camaro = $10,750 + $505 for 5.0L H.O. option
'83 Mustang GT 5.0= $9,445.

An almost $2K difference.

My '84 H.O. Z28 was over $13K with no ttops, auto trans, power seats, etc.
My '87 IROC was OVER $16K with no ttops, auto, cruise, tilt, power windows/seats,etc.etc.

ford also stuck with 4 cylinder availabilty much longer than Camaro did, making the entry level models even cheaper.

The "one large vehicle" comment was directed toward the Chally not the Mustang.
