Possibly a vacuum leak?

This could be it. I had a bad hose when I installed my catch can once but I can't remember if it was idling high all the time or sporadic.

I think it's just part of the tune. Most of us with the A8 are reporting it happening with the car fully warmed up and in neutral. In park I don't have the issue. It's probably something in one of the idle tables or throttle follower/cracker tables if this car has those.

This is so crazy to read about, especially the people who have it regardless of how long the engine has been running

Sounds like a bad throttle body or throttle position sensor.

Hey everyone. I have the same exact problem and it's not on a cold engine. I am not sure why it's doing it, and it shouldn't be launch control, because that is only supposed to engage in track mode with the traction control off and you "forcefully" press the gas pedal down. Not sure what it is but when it has happened to me I just turn the car off. I'll mention it to my dealer tomorrow.

Backed out of the garage, in the morning, then after shifting into drive, it lurched forward a bit before i caught it with the brake. My wife was pulling out right behind me and probably thought "idiot, hot-shoeing it outta there".
