Problem

I have a car problem that I would like some help with. My current car is a 95 Monte Carlo Z34. It is older has 117K miles and needs some serious work done to it. So here is my problem do I keep it fix it and hope it lasts for another year till I can get a Camaro? Or do I buy a replacement (used of course) and then drive it for awhile and trade it in on a used Camaro mid to late '12 after I have more money saved. My current options for replacements are

2006 Chevy Cobalt SS supercharged with 35,000 miles for 12,900 out the door.
2006 6.0 Pontiac GTO with 31,000 miles for probably in the 14-16 range haven't heard back yet.

Or should I keep my car fix it and then buy a new Camaro late next year?

My brain hurts from trying to decide your thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Keep your car. It's always a bad idea to buy a holdover unless it is really cheap because it won't retain its value. As a result, you'll have to add the difference between what you paid and the trade-in value to the cost of your new car. While a Cobalt SS or GTO might be more reliable, fun, or easy to maintain in the meantime, you won't really appreciate it because it is not what you want. You want a Camaro, so just hold out for that.
