Yes I was.... I ordered from an out of state dealer, I had never dealt with, ordered 2-14, car was produced 6-10, it was delivered 7-2, to a diff dealer closer to me that I do know, so it was courtesy delivered, cost 300, got car at msrp in writing in feb, also purchased at msrp on 7-3, with no problems, I drove off in my 2ss 7-3, with all the plastic in the trunk, and not washed or gassed up, just like I asked. Great experience, great car!!! Love it so much, have a 2lt on order for the fiancé!!!!
Harbor chevy, Michigan city indiana, ken mahlka is his name! Also ordered the 2lt thru the dealer that delivered my 2ss! Johnson chevy, Clarksville Arkansas, salesmans name is Bradley! |

This is EXACTLY how my transaction went. My delaer went so far as to call me 1-2x per week with updates, and even called me to inform me of potential contraints on the order. At one point, it was stuck at 3000 because the IOM engine cover was on contraint, so he removed it from the order, the car went to 3300, and we ordered it through the parts department instead of a factory install. Engine cover's already here. Same issue with the Hurst shifter option - my order didn't move until I removed the shifter. Key point is the dealer made me aware of the problem and fixed it to move my order along. That's service and attention to detail, in my book.
Incidentally, I think alot of people with orders stuck at very early phases are quite possibly from contraints on something as simple as an engine cover, and their dealer never bothers to check on their order... |

Me! Well, I don't have mine yet but very soon! So far, everything has gone smoothly so I consider myself very lucky.
My Dealer, Graham Chevrolet, had 1 allocation left when I walked in. Saturday, May 23rd, sat down with a salesperson and she quickly got to work and we started building the car with the options that I wanted. The owner's son also got involved and my wife and I were treated with respect. That evening, I get a call from my salesperson while she was entering my order in the Order Work Bench. She advised me that we needed to drop the Painted Engine Covers because it is on Constraints, otherwise, my order will suffer weeks in delay. She re-assured me that we can order the part separately when the time comes, no problem, she entered my order without it. After 5 days, she emails me and tells me my order went to event 3000! She and the owner of the dealership has kept track of my car and kept me informed as much as possible during the entire process. I didn't ask but the Owner even called the DBC to find out my order's status when we didn't get a VIN in the week is was supposed to get built. He found that it was already shipped despite the Work Bench showing 3400 still. So, they called me right away with the great news! My salesperson emailed me weekly updates and telephoned me each time the order hit a milestone event code (3300, 3400, 4200). On Monday, she emailed me to tell me my rail car left Iowa. But I have to give a lot of credit to members of site for much of the tracking that I learned to do on my own. Dealer is painting the GFX at no extra charge and the Owner of the dealership personally sent me an email to re-assure me that they are aware of the GM bulletin regarding the GFX installation and GFX will be installed per instructions. He also re-assured me that the front license plate will not be mounted as per my request. Today, rail car left New Mexico at 3:30pm en route to California, ETA 7/31. So, I should have it maybe this weekend or early next week. Yes indeed, I consider myself lucky. |

I had some great luck also, well, in the end.
In April I was a pallbearer and ruptured my left distal(lower) bicep tendon adjusting my right arm carrying the casket. Felt like my arm from the elbow down was torn off. I seriously looked to the ground thinking it was going to be laying there in case you wanted to know. Had surgery to reattach my tendon to my forearm bone. Decided to wait to order my car until I saw how the surgery and recovery turned out since I wanted a manual. Stuck in a full arm cast for 4 weeks and a brace for 8 weeks. Started looking on autotrader to see what I could find with little luck for MSRP. Got the brace off and everything was looking good July 7th. July 9th, I was outside with my daughter and wife. Looked down at the ground and found a 4 leaf clover. Picked it, looked around and found 2 more. Went back inside and did my daily autotrader search and found one for sale in town. Called and they said that one is sold, I said "Oh, does that mean you have another." I asked if the other was an SS and a manual. He said "yes" and I told him I'd be right in. Had everything I wanted except it had a sunroof. Oh well, guess I'll have live with that! Got it for MSRP. Someone ordered it and backed out. Thank you to whoever that was! |
