Got called an AS*#*%e at my Chevy Dealer

Today was an interesting day. My 5th gen is basically a summer toy. I only put 600 miles on it this summer. Anyhow, when I bought it, my dealer Ron Davidson Chevrolet in Ebensburg PA through in 1 free oil change a year. I've taken the car there for the last 4 years to have the oil changed before parking it for the winter, and never had a problem. I scheduled it for its oil change and inspection on Friday, and my father took it to its service today. They had the car there for the normal period of time and on the way home my dad noticed that they didn't change the oil change sticker on the window, so he called them just to make sure they did the oil change, which it was part of the rservice that it was there for. The service advisor told him that with that mileage that they won't change it with only 600 miles on it. My dad told me about this when I got home from work and I immediately called the dealership manager. He told me that they aren't throwing their money away even though I'm entitled to it, and that he was busy with someone else and I could call back tomorrow. At this point I was furious and drove to the dealership. I was polite but at the same time made my point, at which point the dealership manager Ron Davidson Jr told me to stop being an asshole and that even though my owner's manual calls for the oil to be changed at least once a year that it was fine. I even went so far as to say "Then I want a letter from Ron Davidson saying that if my engine fails, that GM will still honor my warranty because the dealership said that the maintenance schedule designed by GM is wrong". He said that he would look into doing that for me. What a joke. This place only sells a handful of cars a year because it looks like they are straight out of 1985, but if anyone else is considering purchasing from them, DO NOT!

Oh, and I was also called a liar by the same guy as well. My SS is an early order car that I ordered in Jan of 2009. I placed the order and was assured that they had allocation. I was basically lied to month after month for 9 months until I finally got fed up and emailed our beloved Fbodfather on here to ask him what as going on. He was incredible to talk to and had my car pushed into production within a few weeks, and even personally called my house to apologize for the wait and thank us for being a loyal GM family. He even went so far as to email me the information from my car the day and time that it was built, and wrote a cool email about it being being a healthy new Camaro weighing in at just under 4,000 lbs and having all of its lugnuts and tires. Well I told my dealership manager about this and he told me that I was a liar and that nothing that I could have done did anything to get my car made and quicker because GM couldn't care less. What customer service...and what a dealership. I may just take Scott's emails to show him what real customer service is tomorrow. STAY AWAY FROM RON DAVIDSON CHEVY IN EBENSBURG PA!!!

And that's why I don't take my car to dealers unless I have to. Many just don't care after the sale...

Shame... You deserved better. That wouldn't have cost them much @ all to do it -- now they've lost customers...

Wow...

Sorry you had to deal with that...

They're right. You are an AS*#*%e.

But, I would have changed your oil and charged you $80.

It's amazing how out of control these dealerships are. I'm assuming you were paying for the other service and that the oil change part was to be on them. I can't understand how these people expect to run successful businesses with this type of outlook towards their customers. It's one thing is the customer is an @$$h0\3.

Yeah, in PA we have both safety inspection and emissions. The dealership gave lifetime free safety inspection but charges for the emissions. I was ok with that the last few years, except this year they raised their price on the emissions to $40 when every other garage charges $15. Basically they just screw you every way that they can. At this point I'm done. That place will never touch my car again!

Well if they have their policies, and I don't understand the difficulty in changing oil yourself... After reading this I must be the first to post....

By the way you described the place and the amount of cars they sold, sounds like that dealership is barely making ends meet. No wonder they fuss over an oil change, still they should honor their offer. Now they lost a customer and are potentially worse off.

LOL I probably would have decked both of them in the face. Don't treat customers like shit just because you can't make a dime off your "excellent" customer service. Don't worry OP, karma's a bitch. I don't see them keeping their jobs for much longer

Next year try to put at least 1000 on it. Not driving it is like having a supermodel for a wife and not banging her. No since saving her so the next guy can change her oil.

hahaha that's kinda funny? Any service advisor should know that oil should be changed at least once a year. Why miss out on that 8 quart Mobil 1 oil change? That's stupid on their part.

Would never buy from Ron Davidson. I've never heard a good thing about them.
