As a few of you who have read my posts here and there you know that I have a retarded sales person. A few months ago even before production started on the Camaro I changed my order with the sales person, I had removed the black stripes and the spare tire (added before I knew it wasn't even an option for the 2SS) and then added the RS package. Then when production started my car was held up because the hurst shifter was on constraint. Waiting 3 weeks my mentally handicaped sales person then called me and said would you like to remove the shifter and get the order in then whenever the shifter is offered for the parts department they would add it at that time. Wondering if the brainless fool had ever thought about this option 3 weeks earlier I said go ahead. Cut to 2 weeks ago, I call the moron in question and ask him if he could just call me every Friday and just give me an update on how my car is doing, well sounding like I was asking way too much for him to do he said sure and said he would have to write a note to himself to be sure he wouldn't forget to call. Well he did, and he did again last Friday so I called and asked to speak to his manager, after a rather long phone call explaining my frustrations the manager assured me he would make sure the owner knew what happened. Later Friday I got a message from the owner giving me his cell # and telling me to call him. I do and he begins by telling me how sorry he was for what happened and that now I was just to call him and he would personally take care of me and my order. Then he gave me the best news of all, MY CAR IS BUILT AND IN TRANIST AND WILL BE HERE NEXT WEEK!!!! (by the end of this week). I was so happy I forgot to ask him what the VIN was so I could call the Insurrance company and get a quote. So I called him back and he pulled the car's info up and gave me the VIN and him having the info right in front of him I asked him if it had everything I ordered. He said yes the car had everything I wanted and the price was 33,000, I said that was a little low isn't it? He checks everything he could and he couldn't pull up the build sheet. He said the person who does the ordering had gone home for the weekend and I would have to wait till Monday (Today) for him to check into it. Well he just called me about an hour ago and told me the RS was never added to the order, thanks to the Simple Jack (from Tropic Thunder) of a sales person I gave the change order info to it never got added, even after I asked him to make sure it was, when I dropped the hurst shifter, and he said everything is good to go. So now I had to reorder the car today and it will probably take another month and a half to get here, missing my birthday which is the 17th of this month. Well this weekend my wife and I had cleaned out the garage and started painting so everything was ready for later this week... guess it was good just to get it out of the way now and not have to worry about it when it really gets hot here.

Thank you all for taking the time to read the story and I hope a much better outcome for all of your orders. Maybe it's a good idea to double check your orders before it shows up and the same thing happens to anyone else.

The RS package has been a problem for some people who changed their orders. Hopefully, your idiot dealer gets handled appropriately. Owners hate more than anything to hear that their facility is poorly operated. I would not be surprised to hear that they are hiring one salesman soon.

The good news is that any new order probably won't be trapped in QC.

I'm thinking when the shifter was removed the RS package fell off the order like what has happened to a few people on this site. It happened to me when I changed my wheels, the RS package was removed as well luckily I saw it. Sorry to her that man

Sorry to hear about the dealership troubles.. at least your in good hands now though. Not much consolation, but I'd be willing to bet you're in your re-ordered car before I am in my pre-order (working on 40 days for delivery and counting right now).

why are these dealers being such idiots on these damn cars; this is supposed to be GM's savior and they "dealers" just seem to not have a clue exactly whats going on its like they have never ordered cars before the gen 5 its really a pain in th ass when you call the dealership and get a bunch of i dont knows i hope they give a seminar to all sales people on the proper ordering process one day after all without people like us ordering these cars the company may close the doors for good jmo

at any given moment on any given day, I know more about the status of my car than my rep does. I don't think it should be this way... instead of me calling my rep with status reports/updates, I kinda feel like my rep should be calling me. I don't know, call me silly.

That said, I understand that my rep has cars to sell and a quota to meet. My sale is in the bag, so he's gotta work on ones that aren't as certain. I get that... but, I also get the positive impact of customer service.

This is one reason I am glad I found this site. We all got a heads up from Camaro Scotty that this was happening and if I hadn't had read it here my order would had dropped the RS package as well. Fortunately I was with my dealer when he changed the order and I told him about this issue and sure enough when he changed the order it dropped the RS package. He then had to go back in and add the RS package to my order one again. Sorry you had to deal with an incompetent dealer who didn't verify your options.
