They had to do this deliberately to confuse us:
  • V6 bumper
  • SS mail slot
  • ZL1 quad-tipped exhaust

The yellow car in the pictures is merely a distraction to keep the camera mans attention away from what is really happening!

Pic # 8 look above the distraction, guy carrying an assault rifle protecting the LT-1 powered GEN 6 in a fenced in area.

Pic # 9 Guy in the forground holding a pistol on Ford engineers trying to get a look at the LT-1 powered GEN 6 as it is getting some tweaks in the service bay.

It's about the situational awareness

The lower V6-style facia makes sense...the larger opening for the V8 is to facilitate Automatic Transmission cooling...which would NOT be available with an LS7.

NPP exhaust would be a necessary feature to get an "honest" 500 net hp in the Camaro chassis, which otherwise has a more restrictive exhaust system than the Z06s.

As for the mailslot, making it disappear would be a good thing.

TWO things, at a minimum, missing:

1) Forged wheels, ala 1LE/ZL1

2) ZL1 Brembos

Aero tweaks to follow...

How many days to the Chicago Auto Show?!

So how do they know it has an LS7 in it? Just because "It sounds like a V8" doesn't mean it's an LS7. It could still be an LS3 or possibly the new LT1.

What makes you think there would not be an Auto LS7?

This version could simply be a drivetrain analysis mule...without the full ZEE suit of clothing...which BTW should include an extractor/RamAir composite hood.

Maybe GM is trying to tell us something. It's a V6 lower bumper with a V8 slot. Maybe GM is trying to tell us that this is a V6 with V8 power. The quad tips could represent the ZL1's forced induction.

In conclusion, my guess is that this is a force-fed V6.

Same "The Blur" from back in the day?

If GM does release an LS7-equipped 5th gen I will be quite jealous.
