V6'ers what kind of mileage are you getting?

Hello I took delivery on my lt2 on Friday.
I am getting 20.2 miles to the gallon as of today.
I have been getting on it a litte though so the mileage should go up.

Thanks, I've got a 6 on order but am (of course) thinking of an ss.
Cash for the SS is not the problem, It's the premium gas and mileage, so
I'm looking for real world numbers. V8's please post your mileage if you've read this far..

Just thought to check results for the G8, since it has similar powertrains and a slightly higher curb weight. Added the link above. G8 owners have been reporting similar MPG for the 3.6 V6 and 6.0 V8, which is a bit surprising.

The DI in the Camaro V6 might help a bit. But still probably just a 1-2 MPG difference.

The EPA numbers came from extensive track testing. If your mileage is less your either dogging it or you have a tech issue.

Actually, the EPA numbers come from a set route at varying speeds and with a few stops (especially for the city test) simulated on an indoors dyno--there's no track involved, or even any real driving.

You mileage could be less simply because you make more stops or travel at higher speeds than in the EPA test. Or becauses there's a headwind or crosswind. Or because you run the A/C. Or because you dip a little further into the gas. Or because the gas has ethanol mixed in...

There's a reason for YMMV.

In Canadian figures the V6 does on paper is..see below..... I have been doing lately(Since May 1st) around town is between 11.5 to 13Lt /100 and Highway I got 9.7Lt /100 cruising at 130 Km/Hr (80MPH) Hopefully it will improve but I think these are great #'s for a sports Car

41 highway? Looks like you use the Queen's gallons rather than the smaller U.S. gallons up in Canada. And/or the original EPA calculations.

Yeah, we use the Imperial gallon up here which is roughly 4.5litres versus the US liquid gallon whish is just under 3.8litres...

I don't think our ratings are as realistic either... even using in US MPG the 6.9 equats to 34.5MPG... a lot better than the 29 the V6 is rated by the EPA

Yeah why are the mileage numbers on all the stickers here so insanely high?

I've only driven my V6 about 100 miles but am getting about 23 mpg.

Caveat: that's about half city/half country driving but does include an awful lot of very slow movement as I practice getting into and out of a garage designed for a Model T Ford and a very narrow alleyway and a neighbor's garage right behind mine.

Considering the break-in period listed in the manual is 1500 miles most of us probably have a lot more miles to go before we start worrying about the mileage.

One thing I found interesting in the manual is that rumor on the forum had it that we were supposed to keep our speed under 55 mph. Ha! The book specifically states it's best to keep it under 100 mph during the break-in period... :-)

Under ideal conditions you may actually acieve them. My wife's car is rated at 23 city 27 hwy and we have got as much as 31 on flat interstate with the cruise on going 70mph. Up here where it's rolling hills we get 27 and with the headlights or any other draining accessory we get 24. City driving is only 15. We'd need to drive with the wind, downhill, at 10mph to get it's projected mileage.
