Paint chip on RPI Designs Job

i'm just looking to vent, don't mind me! lol

i ordered my RK sport spoiler from RPI designs last year, prepainted. When i went to a friend's house to install as i am not good with these kind of things, the paint looked "warped" underneath and the bottom wasnt painted as it was suppsosed to. They said they would repaint it but i already drove 1 and 1/2 hour away to get installed and i wasnt turning arround.

a few months later, the paint started chipping away on the edge of the spoiler. Again i'm not good with cars so i never took off to check.

Today, the paint chipping looks crappy as can be. I know removing the spoiler isnt too hard, but its principle that i have to remove it now and pay to get the crap painted again.

My guess is that it wasnt prepped enough, but i know nothing about painting.

Last time i buy something prepainted.

That does suck however. It never should have been installed if it wasn't painted properly and sent back to be redone.

You would have wasted a drive. but now it's a drive. Plus time and money to have redone.

Good luck. Hope it works out well.

I had problems with chipping on the pre-painted splitter I bought from them for my SS. Chunks would flake off due to stone chips. My two previous splitters I had painted by local shops and they didn't exhibit this behavior. It was like there wasn't a good prep to get the paint to stick. Other than that, I thought it was awesome. Fit was good, and it looked good. At least until it started chipping.
