Excuse my question, but why does it looks like that, does it still have to be polished?
BTW, it's a very nice piece.

Well just got back from the dyno. Numbers look amazing. Before was 365.5 hp 368.0 ft lbs. after the intake and a tune (the only mods to my camaro) I am putting down 390.2 and 388.7 ft lbs. thats 25hp and 21 ft lbs.. And the car drives AMAZING.
Sorry for the quality of the pics... damn iphone. BTW drove straight on the dyno after a 30 minute ride kinda heat soaked but no excuses.. I am LOVING it. Last edited by Hawkdiver; 10-01-2010 at 06:54 AM. Reason: I cant spell |

Those numbers seem pretty nice but you really can't go by that. From your statement I'm going to assume the stock dyno run was done on a different day.
To see a true test you'll need to put all the stock intake back, dyno it with a few runs, then put the new CAI, and dyno it a few times again. All pretty much in the same time frame. The dyno is used as a tuning tool. There are tons of different variables that can take place to skew numbers one way or the other. Weather conditions, leaving the hood open vs closed, etc. 25 rwhp is a big number from just a CAI.

its not just the CAI it was the intake and a tune.. The dyno was done in the same weather with a weather station on the dyno. same time of day some location etc. Made it as accurate as we possibly could.

did you do a run without a tune, would be nice to see the gains of just the intake no tune
